Dendrochilum cornutum from Java could almost be put in a miniature class. It
has very tiny flowers on spreading pendulous spikes that are quite
attractive as a spike but the plant would be much more appealing if it can be encouraged
to flower really heavily with numerous spikes. I haven't been able to do
this and from my point of view there are more worthwhile species to collect
before chasing this one down. Nevertheless, don't pass one up if you get a
chance because they take up very little room in their preferred warm and
moist glasshouse.
Negatives: It lacks the 'wow' factor of some of
the other Dendrochilums.
